Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)

I know you will be reading this today, And I want to say.... Happy Birthday, Honey. I want to remind you what makes you so special to me...and why you should celebrate who you are.... You came thousands and thousands of miles from your home to come live with me....As much as you miss your family, as much as the unknown concerns you, you did it for me....You make the best of every situation you have encountered here. You are comforting and tender and loving; you are affectionate ...

Yesterday, I had to attend a meeting at work (we are in the middle of our summer vacation, but trying to get a head start on new things going on in our school district...long, boring story). We met a new co-worker, a teacher coming to us from another school who will be with my grade level...she seems very friendly, and is eager to join us. Anyway, after a long morning full of work, we decided to stop for lunch. As we were being driving to our destination, the topic of family and childr...

I’ve never been much of a potato person; sure I’ll eat fries or taters from time to time, but I am not crazy about them. My significant other, however, loves ‘em. He has recently introduced me to his homemade mashed potatoes. Oh, you should see how much care he takes in making them! He shines up his knife and begins peeling the potatoes with precision. He then thoroughly rinses them and meticulously begins cutting them up into cubes (I saw him doing this yesterday...it was adorable how mu...

Before I go off to enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers right off the grill, and before I head out to watch fireworks light up the night sky, I thought I'd take the time to reacquaint myself with some worthwhile words from the people who helped shape the country we live in today. and btw, Happy Independence Day. “If there must be trouble let it be in my day, that my child may have peace. “~Thomas Paine “Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigue ...

It’s strange how I grew up around people that cuss, yet I am not one to cuss much. Sure, I say the basic sh**t or a**hole when I am angry or something has upset me, but for the most part, I tend to stay away from the big words...even the ones I know in Spanish (what a geek, I know). Because of this, I find myself spewing out the dumbest things....This is usual inbloom talk : “freaking” this or “freaking” that, “that sucks”, “that’s pissing me off”, “son of a crap!”, “crapperoni”, “cripies!”, ...

As some of you may already know, according to the latest Ipsos poll (conducted for the AP), President Bush’s approval ratings are at their lowest. His approval mark is at 43 percent, and only 41 percent of the public say they support his handling of the war in Iraq. During post 911, his job approval rating was close to 90 percent....Wow, that is a shocking change. Other results: only 35 percent of those polled thought our country was headed in the right direction, 45 percent of those suppo...

My boyfriend told me not too long ago that I am the Queen of overstating the obvious. He laughs and says he can’t believe some of the things that come out of my mouth. For example, we were at a restaurant once and he was downing bourbon street chicken. I say, “Do you like it?”, and he sarcastically says, “No, I hate the stuff. I hate it so much, I’m scarfing it down.” (What a smart a**)... Here are some other doozies: “Are you sleepy?” (when someone is yawning). “Is this your b...

Oh, Joe, how I’ve neglected you... You often fill me in on issues and rants, on joys and sorrows... You let me into worlds I wouldn’t otherwise know. You also sit here and let me vent...you let me express myself however I want... You are there for me whenever I need you. Yet here I am turning an ear away from you... Here I am not opening up to you lately... Here I am giving you excuses. “I’m busy with this, Joe....occupied with that...I’ll get to you soon, Joe. Don’t you Worry.” ...

I am a distant person....trauma and other very personal matters have molded me this way...I have trouble getting close to anyone...I am not necessarily cold, but it does take a lot for a person to become a confidante of mine. I can count the people I consider very close to me on one hand. Hugs, kisses, affection and verbal expressions don’t come easy for me. It feels very artificial to act familial with people whom I don’t know very well. Even online, I feel like I have to know a person for...

I don’t love the smell of napalm in the morning, but I do love other scents...these thoughts came to me as I was sitting at home with a stuffy nose...I couldn't smell a scented candle I had bought a while back, and couldn't smell the soup I was eating for dinner... ...anyway, here are scents I love... *Wet Dirt or Soil (I’ve read that some people actually eat the dirt when they smell it...they link this to some kind of vitamin deficiency...I've never eaten it myself, but I’ve commented...

Today I am doing my Taxes....I have my forms ready, my W2 ready, and have receipts out...(looking for any little thing to get deductions!)....I am the first to admit that I procrastinate when it comes to this, but this year, I have just simply been forgetting.... I have so many personal and professional things on my mind....but hey, I have been progessing! Last year and the year before , I did them on the 14th and mailed them out on the 15th... People shake their heads at me and wonder ...

...You put the Lime in the Coke, you Nut, and Drink it all Up... Catchy , laid back song ...People will either sing along with it, or change the channel after getting annoyed with it...lol... I heard this is a sort of remake of an old song? (A song called "coconut") Gosh, I need to stop paying attention to commercials...

My new place is what you would call a “Fixer Upper” Sure we (the b/f and I) could have rented an apartment with all the up-to-date amenities... or maybe even chosen a swanky, modern house... But I fell in love with an old fashioned townhome...built before I was even born...I saw a picture of it--the faded pink brick...the small balcony...the warm brown wooden front door...the french window at the front--and immediately thought, “this is it.....” But it’s not perfect: the plumbing i...
