Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)
...You put the Lime in the Coke, you Nut, and Drink it all Up...

Catchy , laid back song ...People will either sing along with it, or change the channel after getting annoyed with it...lol...
I heard this is a sort of remake of an old song? (A song called "coconut")
Gosh, I need to stop paying attention to commercials...

The song on the commercial sounds like it is the original song by Doctor Hook. You put the lime in the coconut and drink them both together

Oh, it was a song, aaaaaaah...

I thought it was a funky cocktail recipe, lol!

Oh, whenever I see that commercial it makes me laugh. I really dig it. It is a song as as you have all discovered, a song I really like too. They've featured it in quite a few movies, none I can remember the name of right now but it's a very popular song!

I LOVE Dr. Hook and the Travelling Medicine Show. Not the least of which because he sang so many Shel Silverstein songs. But I gotta admit, my favorite version of the song was the Muppets with Kermit and the Witch Doctor.

(singing Dr. Hook) Got a freaky ole lady named Cocaine Katy,
Who embroiders all of my jeans,
And my dear ole dad with his grey mustache,
Drivin' my limousine,
And it's all designed to blow your mind,
But your mind ain't really blown......

Till you've gotta thrill like the thrill I got,
on the cover of Rolling Stone.
Rolling stone.........on Rolling stone

Dannii Minogue has also done a dance cover of it which is simply called "Coconut"

It's one of those songs that I don't even like which I find himself humming.

Great commercial, though.

Spc, I'd like to hear the Kermit version ...wonder where I can find it.
Dusk, is Danni related to Kylie? (kid sis?)...yeah, I find myself singing along with it, too...lol

Spc, I'd like to hear the Kermit version

I've got it on the Time-Life muppets collection. (I think it's still available.) All old shows(Henson and Oz) not the cheesy sell outs that came out after henson died.

Can't remember the specific episode or the guest star, but I think Kermit's being treated by a witch doctor after being fired out of a cannon into Statler and Waldorf's box.

LW: "Favorite Dr. Hook Song, (lyrics by shel silverstein) FREAKER'S BALL"

Okay, now I want to hear that song as well...lol...interesting lyrics

If you like dr. hook, you might want to check out some of Shel Silverstein's (you know, the kid's poet) adult (very much so in some cases) songs that he wrote. He wrote a lot of Dr. Hook's stuff, as well as Johnny Cash's A Boy Named Sue.

There's a site devoted to his stuff here.Link
