Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)

My new place is what you would call a “Fixer Upper”
Sure we (the b/f and I) could have rented an apartment with all the up-to-date amenities...
or maybe even chosen a swanky, modern house...

But I fell in love with an old fashioned townhome...built before I was even born...I saw a picture of it--the faded pink brick...the small balcony...the warm brown wooden front door...the french window at the front--and immediately thought, “this is it.....”

But it’s not perfect: the plumbing is bad and will take two days to fix, garbage disposal has gone awry, cabinets are an awful shade of brown and one or two are falling apart, weeds abound in the yard, and some of the doors are a bit creaky...other blemishes are present throughout as well....

Some ppl have questioned our choice....some ppl think I should have gotten something newer....but I don’t really care what they say. The place has potential to me....I study every corner and edge and blank wall, and I envision how we will transform it...gets me giddy even thinking about it! I’m no Martha Stewart or Ty Pennington, but I think with a little paint here, some cleaning up there, and plenty of personal touches everywhere, this house will be turned into a home in no time...and a sweet looking home at that...

Wow, it sounds really exciting congratulations Rose!!!

I'm into houses that look like homes instead of the cold and impersonal look of the modern ones, too sophisticated and hospital like if you ask me!

But yeah, enjoy renovating the place and turning it into a cosy love nest

Thanks, IG . I know it's kind of dorky to be excited about buying a bathroom rug or matching salt and pepper shakers...but I can't help it!

My uncle did the same thing. He bought a rundown house and fixed it up while him and his wife were going through a divorce. He made it look 10 times better. Him and his fiance (Getting married on the 15 and I am so excited) just bought a rundown farmhouse and fixed it up to the way they wanted it. So I thought you would like to know there are other ppl out there that share your same enthusiasm for fixing houses up.

Jessica, I think it's cool that your uncle fixed up the place just like he wanted...I hope to do the same...I am working on the kitchen right now...hopefully I'll be able to achieve my goal one room at a time.
