There are "playground" arsonists on the loose in our town. It all started several months back, with these morons setting two or three eastside schoolyard play areas on fire. I haven't seen anyone put up a writing challenge for a while, and I was thinking maybe we can do a Haiku Of the Week post...where a topic is put up that you can create into a haiku. Haikus have been a favorite of mine since middle school. In case you don't know, a haiku is basically three lines of writing, with a 5-7-5 syllable pattern. American Idol is down to its final four: Melinda Doolittle (front left), Blake Lewis(front center), Lakisha Jones (front right) and Jordin Sparks (back center). My class and I went on a hiking field trip last week to our local mountains: I'd never been hiking. This particular hiking trip has been described as "gentle" by a web site.
