Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)

My 2006--In Six Sentences or Less *I had one of the most stressful years in my teaching career...I've only cried twice when it comes to stress at work, and this year I had one of those cries. * I saw several of my family members leave home this year...all departures relating to the military. Two of them (my cousins) are doing well and I was able to see them for Christmas. The other (my brother in law) should be coming back home in March. My sister is definitely looking forward to t...

I think everyone has an embarassing piece of clothing...maybe that lime green sweater you got as a gift two year ago...or those zipper parachute pants from the 80s...or maybe just a funky piece of clothing you wouldn't wear in front of anyone. Well, I don't know if mine count as "embarassing" pieces of clothing, but I do own some things that I wouldn't wear in front of too many people. The first thing are my light blue sweatpants...they don't sound out of the ordinary except that on t...

Christmas Day has come and gone so fast. It just seemed to have hit me out of nowhere. I still feel like I should live the day all over again to make sure I reveled in it fully. The Eve was spent opening gifts at my grandmother's at midnight. When we got home, my honey and I exchanged gifts. I got him a Steelers mug, some nice polo shirts, some DVDs, and a game called Golden Tee (home edition). When it was time for me to open my gifts, he handed me a silver wrapped box that wasn...

This is the "Winter" craft I have chosen for my students to do for their parents/guardians this year (we'll be doing it on Monday): I have modified some of the steps and materials, such as substituting polyester batting with cotton balls, adding mini ornaments (such as little gift boxes, candy canes, and gingerbread men) and opting not to use a mirror as a base. Besides making a winter scene in the cup, they will also be gluing a school picture of themselves in the middle. It...

After my ancient laptop of 7 years finally went kaput, I said to myself, "That's IT...I gotta get a new computer." Well, here it is, an E520: *Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6300 *Windows XP Media Center 2005 *1GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM An early Christmas gift for my honey, actually. I'll be getting a new macbook for work in January...so that will be my baby. I've never had a PC before ...so it's all new to me. I don't even know half of the PC description that I typed abov...

A nice surprise arrived for me earlier this week...I received Tova's Cookie swap package. I received: *A cute Chrismtas card, which I have already put on my Christmas card wall "display". *A very cool Ohio State Conference champions T-shirt. My sweetie is from Ohio, so I love it. Okay, so he's not an Ohio St. fan, but a fan of the enemy (Michigan!)...so I am glad I have this shirt to taunt him with, tova! *And last but not least, THE BEST TASTING fudge ever! Oh my goodness, I ...

Hi, Rose from the public library here. NickyG and Dynamaso have already done this, so I'm gonna follow their lead. I'd really like to extend my Christmas card list to include JUers. Please drop me a line at roseisroseisrose@hotmail.com (if you don't mind typing the painfully long addy) if you are interested. Thanks.

Up until some years ago, I wouldn't be caught dead dancing in front of anyone. If there was a beat worth moving to, the biggest expression you'd get from me was the bobbing head. Most of my dancing and stepping (with the exception of a few times dancing with family at the tender ages of 5 and 6) was relegated to my bedroom, where I could move as freely and crazily as wanted to without fear of what people would think. And that's been my issue for pretty much anything that deals with bei...

I'm not going to write a long review about the Rolling Stones concert we attended last night...seen as some of you might have already had this experience and know this band pretty well. However, I do want to state how impressed I was with their keen sense of pleasing the audience. Every little move (even the weird Mick ones) was geared toward getting the audience into it, getting them in a frenzy, and mesmerizing them to remain standing through 99 percent of the concert. Not once did Ja...

Word on the street is that Kinky Friedman is currently second to Rick Perry in the Texas gubernatorial race. Imagine that...off the wall Kinky Friedman. It looked for awhile there that NO one had second place, with neither Kinky, Chris Bell (D), or Carole Keeton Strayhorn (I) having a firm hold on that position. Some of the stances/propositions/promises that have made Kinky popular: He will send 10,000 National Guard troops to the U.S-Mexico Border; He is pushing for a foreign taxpayer ...
