I've been trying to get into my blog for over a day now, and it keeps saying, "An error occured while trying to process the page." I can get into the forums fine (which is where I posted this) but not so with my blog. I don't know if it's just my browser or system, but if anyone has any idea what this can be, I would appreciate the help.
I don’t know if it’s just me, but the new forum format seems to have taken the “community” out of Joe User. I don’t like that I just can’t scroll down immediately to see everyone’s latest articles on each category. I don’t like that I can’t instantly check, on one page, if my favorite writers have something new up. Sure, I could link to articles from my blog, but I like to use the forums to feel that sense of belonging to this writing community...and with this new design, I haven't fel...

As you probably know, Pluto has now officially been demoted to a "dwarf"...stripped of its elite "ninth planet from the sun" status...I know the argument over whether or not it was a planet has long been around...but it's still a bit of a surprise to me that it was officially stripped of its title. Ah well...I guess we'll have to shorten the well known saying to My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nachos...
I am very excited for the upcoming season of Prison Break (Fox), which starts tonight. I was restless about how long it took for them to break out, but they finally did and I can't wait to see what's in store. And this is coming from a gal who didn't want to see the show at first (now my honey says I get more excited about it than he does...and he insists that I have a crush on the lead actor...hmm..dunno about that).
I was cleaning out some stuff in my closet when I came upon an audio cassette that belonged to my sister (even after over a year of both of us having left home, I am still finding some of her stuff in mine). This tape was dedicated to her from a guy she used to go with in high school. It read something along the lines of “I thought of you when I put these songs together. Hope you like it and know how special you are to me.” Even though it sounded corny, I still thought it was sweet. I did...
Thought I'd give a reminder that: You have my heart...you have all of me. Maybe I don't say that enough. I don't express how deep my love is for you. There is No special occasion at all for this...it's just to simply remind you of what you mean to me...sometimes it's beyond description. You are my friend, my confidant, my support, my light. I wonder now I've made it through life without you. I wonder how I would ever make it without you now. Oh, I guess I could manage, but there would...
This gives a new meaning to having a song stuck in your head, doesn't it. (btw, I know the original article is a bit dated, but thought I'd share it, anyway...and if it's been done, let me know!) ********************************************* 'iPods could make you hallucinate' By Mark Prigg, Evening Standard 25 July 2005 Listening to an iPod could leave you with psychological problems, an expert warns. He says exposure to music is causing more cases of musical hallucination, w...
Today was the First day of School for me. To tell you the truth, my summer vacation flew by, but hey, at least I got some needed rest. One change this year is that I am now the Social Studies teacher (replacing the old S.S teacher that moved to another grade level). Frankly, I am looking forward to it. 5th Grade focuses on U.S History, so I am going to enjoy teaching U.S Geography, Goverment, History, Economics, Current Events, and Citizenship. I told the kids that it may not be the mo...

Looks like anonymous poster has struck again tonight...bumping up articles of long ago. I don't know what the purpose of this is, but it's getting pretty annoying... Will pushing our mental "Ignore" button make him/ her go away? Dunno....it hasn't worked so far. Ah well...what a kook.
I attended a “Goodbye and Good Luck” dinner tonight for my cousin Eileen, who will be leaving for Army basic training tomorrow. Eileen is 18. She is so young, so it’s natural that the family worries about her making such a huge decision. She herself is nervous and sad about this departure, but she also looks forward to the opportunities that it can give her in life. I will miss Eileen...she is one of the cousins I am most close to, for she and my sister basically grew up together. She was...
What Signs of the Times do you see out there in our World? With Technology advancing with every blink of the eye, there are probably so many. The idea for this article first came to my mind a few months ago, when I had to administer a standardized test to my students. Beginning this year, and in accordance with a new state school law, we were required to have students sign a form saying that they had “no media devices on their person” so as not to cheat. It just struck me how weird...

My honey and I were watching Napoleon Dynamite on HBO the other day, and I was impressed with how much attention he pays to detail. He told me to look at the dance scene and announced , "Notice how in one scene he has his shirt tucked in, and in another scene, half of it is tucked out." I've watched this movie a few times and never even noticed this until he pointed it out to me. He also noticed that in once scene Tricia's house had a screen door and in another scene, there was no sc...
