I am not a fan of our President...and didnt vote for him....But I am glad he chose Alberto Gonzalez. I think it is a good step towards reaching out to minorities and supporters of a diversified White House. As a fellow Texan and Hispanic, I only wish him the best. I know some negative things have come out about him; however, to me he is someone to be admired by our community. Although he was the son of migrant workers and came from humble beginnings, his parents valued education, and pushe...

Tomorrow is Inauguration Day...Our President will be sworn in for another Four Years.... This is what I want to see tomorrow and beyond.... *I want him to keep the promises he makes. *He needs to clearly send out the message of wanting to create unity between the reds, and blues..and everyone in between. *Peaceful protests...the other side has a right to vent, you know...just not with immaturity and violence. *Jenna and Barbara behaving like polite young ladies, and not sticking the...

I log onto Netscape news everyday to look at the latest goings on. The following article, dealing with Gingrich and "WWIII" has gotten so much attention over there, it's insane. It's been either the top or one of the top stories greeting me since yesterday. Over 700 comments and going strong. Link .

Texas Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn has decided to challenge Rick Perry for the Texas Governor’s Chair. She has angered many of the Right with her decision to run as an Independent. This is some of what she said during her announcement speech: “I am a Republican. But I know we must set partisan politics aside and do what's right for Texas. That is why I am running for Governor as an Independent. A Texas Independent.” She still needs enough signatures to get on the ballot as a...

As most of you know, a recent poll shows that that 6 in 10 voters believe the U.S. is ready for a female president. 81 percent of people surveyed would cast their vote for a woman, and 53 percent think New York Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton should make a run for the job. Other women mentioned were Condoleezza Rice (42 percent of the people would like to see her run),Elizabeth Dole, and Barbara Boxer. Other results: 60 percent of voters said they expect a woman to be the Democrats' ...

Word on the street is that Kinky Friedman is currently second to Rick Perry in the Texas gubernatorial race. Imagine that...off the wall Kinky Friedman. It looked for awhile there that NO one had second place, with neither Kinky, Chris Bell (D), or Carole Keeton Strayhorn (I) having a firm hold on that position. Some of the stances/propositions/promises that have made Kinky popular: He will send 10,000 National Guard troops to the U.S-Mexico Border; He is pushing for a foreign taxpayer ...
