Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)
Texas Comptroller Carole Keeton Strayhorn has decided to challenge Rick Perry for the Texas Governor’s Chair. She has angered many of the Right with her decision to run as an Independent. This is some of what she said during her announcement speech:

“I am a Republican. But I know we must set partisan politics aside and do what's right for Texas. That is why I am running for Governor as an Independent. A Texas Independent.”

She still needs enough signatures to get on the ballot as an Independent, so her run isn’t written in cement yet, but if she does manage to get all the signatures required, this will indeed make for an interesting contest.

She is quite well known here, and that may be a plus to her. Of course, the major con will be the fact that conservatives who put her in office in the first place already feel like she has turned her back on them.

We’ll see what happens. I, for one, have yet to decide whom I will vote for.

Dr.G~~Why cant Texas politics be dull like Virginia's!~~

Oh, I can't wait to see how this one plays out...I find it interesting because they are both popular conservatives around here...and to see them butt heads will be quite a show.
I tried to link her Strayhorn for Governor website, but couldn't get it to work. The address is: http://www.carolestrayhorn.com
