Private Blogging: Who does it...

I write private blogs from time to time...and tonight was one of those times. No, it was not something serious or sad or depressing...It was just an assortment of unorganized, here-there-and-everywhere thoughts I didn't think people would care to see....it was a nice release...something I could go back and reflect on intimately whenever I want or need to.
It got me wondering...How many of us around here actually do it? When do you decide to make your thoughts private? And how many of us are just Forum exclusive? In need of the feedback? Or in need of the interaction? I enjoy the forums just as much as anyone else...and I certainly do enjoy the comments and communication with other bloggers on here; it has been a great experience overall.
But sometimes I just need that privacy...that privacy that allows me to be completely uninhibited in what I am thinking and feeling and expressing...that privacy that allows me to be 110% me....don't know if that makes any sense.

Gideon ~~If the blog service is dependable, you can store your writing on their server rather than your own hard drive, until you need it later. Their server is usually more secure than your own system.~~
DG~~Actually doing both is a good idea. People use to laugh at me when I would save my programs (when I was one of those!) to a floppy to take home, the network, and my hard drive!~~
Well, better safe than sorry, doc.
I do both...I have yet to delete any articles, and actually enjoy looking through them once in a while (just like I would a regular diary)...and most of what I have written is still in my hard drive.
~~Sometimes I write an article, post it, and then will make it private for personal reasons....~~
I think I did that once...posted one then decided to "hide" it later on.

Some of my private blogs are so private that not only have you not seen them, I haven't even seen them. Now that is private.
I'm only kidding I have no private blogs, and if I did you know you could see them.
Hell, you seen my privates many of times. Wait! That didn't come out right.

I used to do that a lot when I had a lot of stuff I had to get out of my head that I didn't want to share with others.
I've also done a custom audience article or two.
They are nice options to have, and sometimes you need to write something down, but it's too personal to share or share with folks beyond the ones you trust. Or sometimes it's something no one else would really be interested in reading about.
I could just save that kinda stuff on my PC, but it's nice to have it all organized in one central location (my blog).
PS - A HUGE chunk of my articles are marked as private now due to a melt-down I had nearly a year ago. They aren't personal, but are stuff I posted to the forums and then later made private. I could un-private them, but it would take A LOT of time and effort. Meh.

I'll use a private blog to save a work in progress "just in case" if I'm going to be busy on other things. Another good thing is to e-mail a word document as an attatchment to yourself.

Nothing like good 'ol fashioned pen and paper journal writing, but yes, like you, I do like the options of publishing my stuff or not, and of keeping everything in one place.

hmmm...nice idea. Never thought of that one for my blogs.
