Laughter.

The best alternative medicine out there today has soothed and invigorated my body and soul these past few days.

Here I was in a bad condition this past week..crying and worrying and wondering when financial and personal matters will get better...questioning whether prescriptions are really helping my stomach ailments and hating the side effects they’ve been giving me....taking my bad situation out on people I love the most... and thinking NOTHING will help me feel better...

And along comes laughter and the perfect person to share it with.

We talked things through, he helped me calm down, we re-evaluated situations, we showed each other affection...and then we Laughed...

Laughed at ourselves, and laughed at each other.
Chuckled at one another’s quirks and personalities (like how I obsessively wash my hands only to wipe them on my jeans, and how he sometimes swears at the laptop and at traffic).
Laughed at Donald Trump’s hair and his way of talking.
Cracked up at the theatrical meteorologist on a local tv station.
Laughed at answers we gave during our Trivial Pursuit match.
Chuckled at my nieces’ silly knock knock jokes.
Laughed at crazy family stories we shared with each other.
Laughed in the dark...laughed until we got sleepy, finally falling into slumber with smiles on our faces...

For the first time in over a week and a half, I slept well...slept soundly...felt a bit better...felt I can handle what comes to me without breaking down.

Yes, laughter IS the best medicine...it re-awakens the mind and body, reminds us that life doesn’t always have to be serious, and gives us that opportunity to share a “feel good” experience with those we care about. I have to give thanks to the higher being for allowing me to share this laughter with the one I love...for giving me strength to even laugh..and for making the wonderful experience of laughter possible.

Of course, there good reasons laughter feels so good. But forgetting all the physiology and such, it just really is a great thing for the soul. Glad laughter helped you out this week. I think there are times we would all benefit from remembering how powerful of medicine it is.

I really enjoyed reading this.

and guess what ? you helped me too.

It helped me to see that something I suggested to my support group, which is a "laugh club"
maybe it just might help some of us. I sure hope so.

Laugh clubs are really fun and so good for us. Haha, you got your own club going strong!

Wish I could give you an interesting in addition to the insightful!

Glad you're feeling a bit better, and I agree wholeheartedly. it it the best medicine.

Yes, and I do it regularly, but tend to take for granted the fact of how beneficial it can be for your health... took some reflecting to remind myself of its power.

Sounds like a good idea...sharing humorous stories, jokes, or just laughing at everyday occurences with people you enjoy being around is definitely a way I'd like to spend some of my time.

Sigh, yep, I do tend to do that. I'm gonna have to listen to you and doc more. btw, you are part of the magic remedy, too.
