“I hear the Train a Comin'; it's rollin' 'round the Bend...

And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when.
I'm stuck at Folsom Prison and time keeps draggin' on.
But that train keeps rollin' on down to San Antone.”
That song’s been stuck in my head for a few days...you know why? Well, it’s because I am very much looking forward to seeing “Walk the Line”, the movie based on Johnny Cash.
The reason for my eagerness doesn’t really have to do with being a big fan of Johnny. It mostly has to do with my b/f being a fan. He has Johnny’s albums, knows his music by heart, and enjoys seeing concert footage of the Man in Black.
Just a little while ago, he was singing along to the song, “Jackson”, which was being played on television. He’s been talking for months about how he wants to go see it, and now that it’s out, I’m excited for him. Actually, this guy is both a Huge music And movie fan, so this makes pretty much a perfect movie for him.
June and Johnny’s love story is a draw as well, and the fact that Joaquin Phoenix (whom I think is a pretty cool actor) will be playing him makes it all the more interesting to see.
Can’t wait to hear that very simple, yet famous introduction:
“Hello, My Name is Johnny Cash.”

I remember when John Byner use to imitate him, but would use another name. "Hello, my name is Johnny Bucks."
Just tell me when you're ready to go see it. Bring your big purse, too so we can sneak some snacks and water in ... I don't feel like spending $11 for 2 candy bars and a bottled water.

Johnny's "Ring of Fire" was our wrestling team's theme song--we went to and won state several times while I was in high school.
*sighs* Those were the days. Too poor to go to theater...probably have to wait till it's out on DVD.
I want to see "Memoirs of a Geisha" too...I've read the book several times.

Yes, that one looks good, too! My b/f and I also want to see History of Violence and Syriana.

I want to see that one, too, but Adrian won't let me.
He says "that crap is the reason why I have to go to Iraq"...whatever that means.
Walk the Line looks good. I'm a fan of both Jaoquin (sp?) Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, and in recent years I've been introduced to some of Johnny Cash's music. The movie has gotten really good reviews. Let us know what you think when you watch it.

Well, I won't pretend to know what it's about (political and involving oil greed, maybe?), but my b/f's been wanting to see it for quite awhile and it has received awesome reviews.
~~Let us know what you think when you watch it (walk the line).~~
I will once we get to doing it...sigh...have put it off for next week.
But that's alright...as long as we get to see it soon.

I miss him. I grew up with him, and more than any other entertainer, he kind of was mine! Not plastic, but real! The Guy next door!
I want to see it as well. Perhaps if my wife and I can get the lights up quickly enough!

Yes, he seemed like a very down to earth type of person, nothing fake about him at all...and that's part of what made him a great man.

Well, we finally went to see Walk the Line, and I gotta say I wasn't disapponted.
Johnny was not made out to be some music star; instead it showed how human he was, and showed his flaws as well as his successes.
Alot of the story centered around his pursuit of June Carter...but it wasn't made out to be a corny love story...it showed what they both had to go through to be together, and it wasn't all pretty.
I recommend it...even if you aren't a big fan.
