Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)

We are at a Literacy Meeting...see the clock getting close to Lunchtime...gotta go get the kids for Lunch in two minutes...

11:45
Woman is still talking...she's a nice, knowledgable lady...but the stomach is rumbling...the legs are getting antsy..and the KIDS need to be picked up from P.E. and taken to the Cafeteria..i'm sure their stomachs are Quaking if mine is rumbling...

11:47
I am about to speak up that it is time to go, and a colleague asks a question about how to search for resources on the net (and she is sort of a tech phobe...so this might take a while)....

11:50...O.K...that's quite enough....Five minutes late....Finally...we are let go....but not without needing to help out another colleague roll a computer -on- wheels cart of out the library (man those things are heavy...I almost crashed one into a wall...)

11:51 and 30 seconds...
Students are escorted to Cafeteria and are in line, and Teacher (not suprisingly) forgets her change purse in Class...I walk back Quickly...Oh, and of course my hallway is the furthest hallway away from the cafeteria....

11:54
Mull over the Cafeteria food options....(I want to kick myself for getting too lazy to pack a lunch)...

11:56 Finally am able to enter the teacher's lounge...engage in some inane chatter while serving myself a small serving of tea...(which I shouldn't be drinking since being advised to stay away from caffeine...HAH...no chance of that as long as chocolate is around)

11:58 Realize I don't have much time to eat ...Scarf down a burrito...hmmm..not bad...

12:03 Engage in some more chatter..."Day is going toooo slow", one says...."Day went by waayyy too fast", says another.

12:05 Need to get a serving of fruit in....so try the Pear Cup...I wonder what the orange stuff ladled over the fruit is....just doesn't look right...

12:10 Decide not to Finish up the Pear Cup...eye the Clock..I need to Clean Up....

12:11 I try to enjoy four minutes of absolute stillness before continuing on with a fast paced, not enough-time-in-the -day Day.

12:15 On with the show

12:16 Walking back to class with the kids, I wonder if we could get away with an extra five minutes of lunch tomorrow....and hope 17 minute lunches don't become the norm.

I hope you have a longer lunch tomorrow, one without strange orange stuff in the pear cups.

UOS: Unidentified Orange Stuff

I hate when my lunches get chipped away at. It makes my highly angry...but I'm too passive....I come home crabby and take it out on O (my boyfriend, although that sounds ridiculous, partner...that sound ridiculous too...whatever) When I come home starving, healways gives me that look, like, you could have helped this, you know? He doesn't get it!

I wish you a more extended and peaceful lunch tomorrow.

My mother-in-law teaches middle school and complains of the same thing. She also complains that she cannot use the bathroom unless she hears a bell ring because she is so conditioned from school to waiting for the bell.

Thank you for all the sacrafices teachers make.

danny, LL, heather:
actually, I had a much longer lunch today! We had to attend an all day technology training at another school, and they gave us an hour lunch, which is heaven to teachers....lol....we laughed, complained, swapped tales, merrily ate, and were thankful we didn't have to have orange pear cups today

Yeah, training is good
