The Grass is Greener on the other Side
To Me, You have the World at your Feet
While I struggle to get the World to See Me.
You Have the the Bright Smile, the Twinkling Eyes, the Rosy Cheeks
My Face doesn't seem to have any sort of Symmetry.
You talk with Ease and the masses eat up your every word,
While I plead, Can you hear me...Do you understand what I am saying...Do you care...
You walk through life with a bounce in your step; maybe you are made up of only one emotion.
I am complex and corrupt and have cried into my pillow ...I struggle to love myself.
You, with the Impeccable home and lush grass, and the ever-smiling loved ones,
With the dozens of friends and two week vacations....
With support that can circle the earth two times,
With a life that can serve as a postcard for the ideal.
Seems like you have never had a bad day in your life.
Without knowing it, you magnify my faults and blemishes.
Without knowing it, you make me question myself.
Without knowing it, you plant a seed of self doubt within me.
Without knowing it, I assumed your life was perfect, when it actually wasn't.
