Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)

Here are a few pics I took from our yearly class field trip.  This year: Cattleman's Ranch in West Texas

A peacock whose colors I couldn't quite catch (wish he would have come a bit closer...)

A Longhorn Relaxing in the Sun

Covered Wagon Ride

Pioneer Home (tour guides explained to the students that people would put valuables up on the roofs, so that bandits wouldn't get to them so easily)

Wondrous Mountain Side

A Helicopter and Car from the movie, Courage Under Fire (many of its scenes were shot at this ranch)

The students very much enjoyed the trip.  We had some big, juicy burgers cooked up for us after the tour, and the students were able to go play on a handmade wooden playground afterwards.  It was crazy hot, but we managed to get some water in us and enjoy ourselves.

It looks like a fun field trip.  I didn't get to go on any with my boys this year.  (

Sweet. Good to 'see' you, Rose!

They just leave the car and helicopter out there like that?

That cracks me up.

I like how the pioneers put all their valuables on the roof.  In Egypt, they do the opposite and put all their rubbish on their roofs.

It looked like a great field trip, Rose.

We went on a field trip to a ranch this year, too!  But we went to a sheep/cow/horse ranch, and our pioneer home was a log cabin by the river.

I love field trips!

Hiya, Tova.

Yep. They also had other props out there, too (like fake military tanks and tents)...lol.

What a great field trip. I know my son went on some field trips this year, but your's is way cooler. I know your class must have had a good time. Thanks for showing the pictures. I loved the longhorn picture the most. Pretty awesome animal there.

It's so cool you had a great day on your field trip but I still say you should've gotten me one of their big steaks cooked medium rare. Mmmmm steak.
