Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)

~Auntie Rose again~
I finally have a nephew. He was born at the end of August , and he is such a tiny little thing! It feels weird AND wonderful now being able to buy green turtle shirts and little blue baseball caps. I will continue to enjoy giving my nieces pretty, pink, girly things, though.

It's been over 12 years since we've had a boy in the family (and I'm counting close cousins, aunts, and uncles, too), so this has been a pretty special event.

~Yuma~
My honey and I went to see 3:10 to Yuma tonight. I liked it very much...it kept my interest throughout. I thought it had the right amount of drama and action. Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, and the guy who played Charlie (I don't know his real name...lol) gave excellent performances. Chris would probably do a better job at reviewing this movie (he's seen the original as well), but
you'll have to do with my crappy take on it for now.

~Director in the Making?~

Not...but it might be the beginning of a hobby for me. See, I made my first video. I storyboarded, edited, added effects and music and all that stuff. It took me a few days, but I got it done and was pretty proud of myself. I enjoyed it so much that I think I might do a few others. I Youtub-ed it and linked it to another site from there. Now, I WOULD share it, but I created it for a specific audience (my family), so it would probably be pretty boring to you...trust me...lol.

~Throwing up on Cats~
I'm in my second week of my new school year and everything has been going well so far. The 100 plus kids I see everyday have been good for the most part. There have been some talkers, but nothing major (I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is as "major" as it will get!).

Not only am I starting to get accustomed to them, but they are getting pretty comfortable with me. They are getting so comfy, in fact, that they are starting to share tidbits with me: there is the boy who likes to bullride, there is the girl who loves gymnastics and is taking lessons, and then there is the boy who shared that he once got so sick, he threw up all over his cat (didn't make it to the bathroom on time). Hmmm...I am sure I'll be hearing more of these types of stories as the year goes on.

~Special Visit~
My sister and I visited my grandfather's grave today. I hadn't been there in over a year. I miss him very much...but along with the sadness, appear all the wonderful memories. I am planning to ask my mother for old photos of his, so that I can scan them and create a slide show of sorts.

~Pics~
Here are some pics I took today.

Ouch, the poor cat!

That's great that you are enjoying your classes. Kids are fun when they are good aren't they?!

I have heard about that movie with Russell and Christian, looking forward to seeing it eventually.

Wow, Ms. Director! Congrats on learning and doing something new! I think we should all do that once in a while!

Your pictures are lovely! Thx for sharing!

Hey Rose,

I for one would love to see the video.

I'm glad your school year is off to a good start. I hope it continues that way.
That sunset is amazing. Thanks for sharing all of this.

I hope you do go and see the movie, Donna. I think it's well worth it. Also, I'm pretty psyched at learning something new...I still have lots more to go, but this is a start.

Who knows...maybe I'll change my mind about sharing sometime...lol. As for the sunset, I hope to take more pics of those. This one was actually shot from a car...maybe next time, I should go and scope out a nice place, so I can take some standing still. I do wish though, I had a more professional camera. I can only do so much with the one I have.

I hope you are able to do that some time soon, Elie. It is always so bittersweet when I visit my grandfather. It makes me terribly sad, but it also creates a warmth and pride inside of me.

Btw, the military cemetery was recently stripped of its green grass...they are now in the process of xeriscaping it to save money on the water bill...gravel is now being put in and native plants are now being placed everywhere. It has caused quite a controversy here.

I'll be honest and say I HATED the idea of the grass being taken away (since there aren't a whole lot of vast areas here with grass in the first place); However, I really didn't think about it once I stepped out of the car and headed to where my grandfather was at. The only thing on my mind was him...and not the gravel that surrounded me.

Hey Rose,

  @ the cat story.

I want to see 3:10 too. I've heard it is really good (and being a fan of Christian Bale, I'm looking forward to it as well). We saw a great movie on the weekend called Ten To Noon. Very clever and excellent diaglogue.

The photos are great, particularly the sunset one. There is nothing quite like a desert sunset, is there?

Say g'day to Chris for me.

Ben Foster.

My son and I went to see 3:10 to Yuma this weekend as well.  I was impressed they did not distort the original too much (The son does not have a major roll in the original).

I really was impressed with how Russell Crowe portrayed ben Wade.  I expected to be disappointed after seen Glenn Ford in that role in the original, but I was pleasantly surprised.

As for the cat and boy, that must have been a slow cat.  None of ours would have waited around to see why anyone was green to begin with.

Thanks for stopping by, Mark. I'll definitely tell Chris g'day.

Yes! That's his name...lol. The movie definitely was worth the money.
