Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)

I am completely frustrated with the following problem. I am wondering if someone can help.

I have a Dell E520 w/ Windows XP, with my soundcard being Sigmatel. On a music site where I am trying to record vocally, I was told that Sigmatel doesn't cut it because it doesn't give on a "Stereo Mix" option.

Anyway, I went out and bought an external soundcard hoping to solve this issue (one called Philips Aurilium with SoundAgent2--USB plugin). It installed fine, but I am STILL having problems recording. On this soundcard, if I go to Mixer>Recording and check off the "Wave Out" mix as suggested, I get NO vocals when I record. I only get vocals when I choose the "Line In"...but when I do that I get NO music on playback.

I've read about so many people with Sigmatel on their PCs having this problem with recording and playback. Any suggestions? Should I get a new soundcard? I am at a loss as to what to do.

Thanks for the link, Skinhit. I downloaded it, but don't quite know how to use it. I'll keep on messing around with it, though.
