The Art of Skinning

I have a new computer that I haven't done much with. What is this world of skinning...and where can I learn more about it?
And we are talking total novice here. I've been to the wincustomize site, but it's a bit indimidating (and overwhelming) to see all of those visuals and info on the homepage if you've never dealt with this before.

Good place to start is the Help Section and also go to Stardock's website. You'll find all you need by simple browsing around.

I browsed through these briefly this morning and they do look quite informative. Glad Cordelia is one of these teachers. Thanks, Cyber and NightTrain.

I'll start off with using skins....but I'd really like to learn to create my own. Of course the creating part will probably occur at a verrryyyy slow pace.
Will definitely check out Mormegil's as well.
