Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)

We have been studying the American Revolution for the past two weeks in class. Today, we finally got the to last part of the war. The Marquis de Lafayette's name came up, of course, and we discussed his importance.

After the discussion, one of my students raises his hand and says, "Oh...that's his name. All this time I was reading it, I thought his name was Laffy taffy..." and he states this only half-jokingly.

It took all my might to contain my laughter...too funny. I just made sure to tell him to read a little bit more carefully next time.

What was weird was when we were watching Jeopardy and laffy taffy was an answer. But since it's phrased as a question I guess it was a question. What the hell am I talking about?

This same student made me laugh again today. He was assigned to draw George Washington for a project, but was trying to convince his group that maybe it might me more interesting to draw his false teeth instead (which there is a picture of in our textbook). The others weren't having it and just laughed off his idea...lol.
