Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)
For a few weeks now, I have been going to the American Idol forums (more like message boards I guess) to discuss the show (I love discussing music and the singers’ skills and lack of skills)...But, oh my gosh, it is CHAOS there! I’m not just talking about weird fanatics of the show who lurk there ...I’m actually talking about the masses and masses of people that are part of those forums! There can be anywhere from 40,000 to 200,000 people online at the same time ...it’s crazy. And don’t think only teen boppers hang around in there...there are people anywhere from the ages of 13 to 70...anyone from a high schooler to a grandma (believe it or not, there are plenty of normal idol fans).

My first two posts on that site garnered about 30 responses in a matter of 10 minutes or so (with about 200 page views)! The last one I did is up to about 35 posts (past 200 page views as well). Post are constantly being read there. It does sound like a good thing; however, since there are SO many people who post there, your articles don’t last very long on the front boundaries...in fact, sometimes they disappear. If the moderators find them too “disruptive” or “dominating the forums too much”, then they will yank it or move it to another category (I’ve come to learn that they are a bit strict there).

Also, their blogs are not very well organized. They don’t have a system like here on Joeuser, where you have the option of linking your blog to a forum...which would make more sense. Instead, if you want your stuff read by people, you gotta sink or swim in the forums.

Yes, it is crazy. When it gets to be too much (almost to the point of being dizzying), I just get out of there. But for the most part, I’m having a bit of fun with it all.

Yes, it is kinda fun...probably not for those who aren't huge fans, though.
But for those who are, it's nice to share your opinions about it.

I went through an American Idol phase, but I don't have any time to watch the show now. I loved Kelly and Clay. After them there hasn't been anyone very impressive.

I have to admit I have long lost interest in all Idol shows, wheyher it is AMERICAN Idol, or Australian Idol, which is of course where I come from, I find that the judges are becoming a bit jaded, not to mentions the level of talent. Also the tight rules around the age limit are a bit constricting, when one considers many performers, including those just breaking into the industry would be too old to appear on these shows, I also find that to an extent the shows seem to be more about personality than any real talent. I did find that what really killed it for me was rock star INXS, and the rock Start series that has followed. Mailnly due to the fact that the level/quality of performance was vastly superior, not to mention the judges and the House band was incredible, I also found that it reflects a more realistic view of the industry which I have been associated with for some 30 years.

I am not saying that Idol should be canned, just there needs to be some improvements to the Judges, backing bands and who can compete, then maybe we will see some real talent.

Sorry InBloom, I mised the point again, I really do not spend a lot of time on the Idol forums, mbe becaus I really have lost interest in the whole show, however if others still like it and njoy this type of music, be it fairly narrow in its range of styles , then good on them, you everyone.
