Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)

Have you ever had a week where your routine is just thrown out the door...like nothing is just as it should be? Okay...well, maybe you haven't...lol...but that is what I am experiencing this week.

My week started off with a way-too-long grocery shopping trip, which I made after work.  Sigh...I should have gone on Sunday.  It was crazy there, to say the least.  What should have been a 45 minute trip turned out to be more like an hour and a half.  The only thing I wanted to do when I got home was to eat and sleep. Then, yesterday, I get home thinking I can rest and relax a bit, but unexpected company awaited me.  The visit was not bad, but they did overstay their welcome a bit, and well...I really wanted some down time.

Today, I got out of work late due to meetings.  So, once again, I head home thinking, 'Okay, nowwww I can get back to my routine...', but no...that didn't happen.  I went and paid a visit to my niece, whom I was told would be leaving out of town with her mommy on Saturday (she'll be gone for a month).  After the visit, I remembered I had to stop by the store to get a birthday cake for my sis.  When sis shows up at my house later, she brings my niece, who was only too excited to find out there would be cake.  Well, there goes another chance at "down" time...

I haven't been sleeping well, haven't exercised once this week, haven't made the wonderful dinners I thought I would make, and in turn, well, haven't been eating very healthy.

Yikes.

I need my routine back...a break it in is okay once in a while...but well, not everyday...

I know exactly what you mean about down time. This may sound weird, but sometimes I wake up early just to have that quiet alone time. It really does wreak havoc on your mental outlook when you don't get to wind down. You being a teacher, might require a little more winding down. You have a tough job.

So, here is to tomorrow's peace and quiet.

RoUTine?  That is just a rut that has not deepened!  Be free as a bird! (But get some rest too. )

Oh...quiet time in the morning is so nice, too, Kelly. Thanks.

lol...I wish I could be a free bird more often, but that hasn't been the case lately.   Hopefully, I will rest today, Doc. Thanks.

Sigh...I guess I'm not doing the quote thing right.

One of the best things about the life Toni and I lead is it doesn't have a lot of routine (not that there is anything wrong with it).  Oh sure, I get up and go to work at the same time and usually finish around the same time.  But my work day is always unpredicatable (one of the reasons I love this job).

Having said this, I know how important routine is to some people.  I do hope yours gets back on track and you get the down time you richly deserve.

Chris is the opposite of me...he can handle unpredictability better than I can.  I do have unpredictability at work, and enjoy getting out of my routine sometimes, but last week was just crazy...most of my week was just so out of my control that it just made me feel so off.

Hope you and toni are doing well, Mark.
