Hope you enjoy my little bits of this and that. :) I can't promise they'll always be interesting. :)

Lately, Chris (udigit) has been approaching me randomly with a blank stare on his face.  He stands there, takes a coin out of his pocket, and with his deepest, creepiest voice repeats to me over and over, "Call It...just Call It", "Call It".  I try to get him out of the mode, but he doesn't budge, which then causes me to either crack up or freak out...lol.

This crazy but cool No Country for Old Men-Javier Bardem imitation got me to thinking about Oscar night tomorrow (which I almost forgot about...lol).  So, anyone out there doing picks?  Here are mine:

Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis (There will be No Blood)

Best Supporting Actor:  Javier Bardem of course.

Best Actress:  Julie Christie(Away from her).  I wouldn't be completely surprised, though, if something crazy like Ellen Page winning would happen.

Best Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett (I'm Not There)

Best Animated Pic: Ratatouille

Best Pic:  No Country for Old Men

Here is a link of all nominations if you wanna take a look:

That's all for now, Friend-Os.

While I liked No Country for Old Men, I hope Juno takes everything it was nominated for. Best movie I've seen in years.

Best movie I've seen in years.

Which is why it won't win. Maybe it's just me but the best movie rarely wins.

I saw a show yesterday where 2 guys where making their picks and one of them hated Juno called it the most overrated film of the year. That no teenage girl would ever talked as intelligent as her, and how the whole movie gives the wrong message to teenage girls.

I seriously can't believe anyone would hate Juno. It makes me wonder about them. Kinda like when somebody tells me they never ever watch tv.

Chris took me to see it a few months back, and I liked it very much. What a shocker it would be if it would win!

Was it Roeper and one of his annoying guest critics?  Boo on them if it was.

Anyway, I can see how some people wouldn't "get" the humor of the film, but I did, and I thought it was a very cool little movie.

While Daniel Day Lewis probably will win Best Actor, Johnny Depp should win. I believe he is the best and most versatile actor of our time. In Sweeney Todd, he does something he'd never done before, and does it phenomenally. When he puts himself out there to sing, which he had never tried before, he deserves an award.

This is like his third or fourth nomination, he deserves this one.

Best actor alive.

Except maybe Dustin Hoffman.

I watch TV. I don't turn it on, don't even plug it in. I just sit for hours staring at the blank screen. Very soothing. Sometimes I see things in it anyway. Scary things. But always fascinating things.

TV is so cool.

Like when the cat talks to me and tells me to do things. Sometimes I don't want to do the things he tells me, but I have to live with him and it's best to keep tranquility in the house.

Is everyone totally creeped out yet? Okay. I've been reading too many horror novels lately.

Best actor alive.

Most overrated actor alive.

P.S. I don't know enough about the movies or nominations this year to hazard any guesses.

We were actually supposed to go see Sweeney Todd last night, but a visit to a crazy pizza and game place with my four nieces totally pooped us out.

There are some years where I've seen maybe only one of the nominated movies.

I disagree. Simply because of the range of characters he's played. He's gone from Ichabod Crane to Edward Scissorhands to Jack Sparrow to Willy Wonka to J M Barrie to Sweeney Todd and played each of them differently, and amazingly. He has more talent than most other actors of his time.

I'm like Gene in that I haven't seen enough of the nominated movies to have an opinion. Award shows, in my mind, are a crock anyway. Most of the time the movies we think should win never do and the actors who deserve the awards don't get them.

Well, InBloom, you certainly called most of them. Good on ya.

heh, when No Country for Old Men won Best Pic and the guy said, "This is a surprise," my friend yelled out, "No it wasn't, we all knew it was coming and we didn't even see your stupid movie!!!"

hahahahaha, made my night.

Daniel and Javier won in their categories.  That french actress won not Cate.  Juno didn't get best picture, No Country for Old Men did.  I haven't seen any of them either but have seen the trailers, heard the reviews of friends.  I watched most of the show tonight, or make that last night, it ended right before midnight!  I love Jon he's cool, but it was boring really.

I think both actress categories were big surprises. I think the winners were surprised, too.

The french actress Marion Cotillard is very hot. When I was watching it and seen the makeup nominations and the work they did on her to make her look like Edith Piaf I thought she had a chance to win since the Academy loves it when an actor alters their appearance. But since I didn't predict it before the show began it doesn't count.

You cracka me up, gene.

I haven't seen any movies this year.  None.  Okay, I saw transformers but that's it.  I wanted to see Juno but I seem to be in the wait for it on DVD mode lately.
